Welcome to another great season of Meadowvale hockey. For
those of you who don’t know me, my name is Lorraine Muise.
I started with Meadowvale 10 years ago as a
hockey mom and am proud to represent Meadowvale as its
president for my 3rd season. Hockey around
our house is a family event. Our 3 boys Tim, Jeff and
Kevin play for Meadowvale and wouldn’t consider playing
anywhere else. My husband Ken is a past board member
and head coach, and is currently an assistant coach.
My expectations for all Meadowvale’s players are the same as
the ones I have for my sons: To have FUN,
to develop their hockey skills to the best of their
ability, learn sportsmanship and team work, develop lasting
friendships and to keep hockey as a part of their lives for
their lifetime.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Board of
Directors, head coaches, assistant coaches, trainers,
managers and our many, many volunteers for their countless
hours of dedication and commitment to the players both on
and off the ice. As a not-for-profit association run
solely by these volunteers, we could not exist without their
dedication and hockey at Meadowvale would not be the fun,
memorable and enjoyable experience it has become.
And of course I thank our sponsors, without
their financial support hockey just wouldn’t be available to
many of our players. The corporations and individuals who
have donated generously to our organization are listed on
the website. Please have a look and patronize these
companies whenever possible.
2006-2007 was our 30th Anniversary and the MMHA
board would like to identify a few of the highlights.
-
Kicked off the season at the Bread and
Honey Festival parade and also hosted a booth inside the
festival arena.
-
We
continued to assist our high school aged players in the
completion of their high school community service hours
with our Junior Mentors Program.

-
We celebrated Meadowvale’s anniversary at a
wonderful dinner and dance, held in November, where a great
time was had by all.
-
Meadowvale Memorial Night with the IceDogs
was another great success. It has become an annual event and
thus far have topped over $35,000 donated to children’s charities over
the last 6 years. We plan to continue this annual charity
event with the new Mississauga Majors, Friday Nov. 30, 2007.
-
Continued training and upgrading of coaches
and trainers certificates.
-
Rounding out the season with 2 wonderful
Awards Day (one for the Ice Puppys and one for the Hawks and
Mohawks) where we celebrated and recognized all of Meadowvale's
players.
Over the past few years, Meadowvale has grown to
become the largest Association within the MHL, we anticipate
91 teams for the coming season. (71 Hawks, 12 Ice Puppys, 8
Mohawk teams.)
This past season again proved to be successful in the
medal standings. Congratulations to our 7 gold, 14 silver,
and 19 bronze medalists and 8 first place series winners. Medals and trophies are only one way to determine a
successful season. We have many, many success stories of FUN,
team spirit, player development and new friendships found. Success doesn’t just come from the score board but from the
camaraderie and pride found both on the ice and in the
dressing room.
We will continue to work with the MHL and the other 7
Associations to provide the best hockey experience we can
for the players, parents and countless volunteers a like.
If anyone has any constructive ideas or suggestions for
improvement, or would like to volunteer to help, please drop
off a note at Ice Control at 4-Rinks; send me an email at
president@meadowvalehockey.com; or come to one of our
monthly board meetings.
Thank you for choosing to register your son or daughter with
us. We look forward to seeing you in the fall at the player
evaluations.
Good luck in this season,
Lorraine Muise
President, MMHA
