Coaching with the
Meadowvale Minor Hockey Association continues to bring families
closer together in a sports related setting. Over the past
quarter century the experience of dads and moms coaching
Meadowvale Teams has added to the very quality of life that we
all enjoy. Be it a head coach, assistant coach, team trainer or
team mom, no other experience fulfills not only the need of the
community but also the sense of being.
Coaching a Meadowvale
Minor Hockey Association team continues to be the favorite
Canadian experience of sports minded families in Mississauga.
It is an integral part of our success as a sports association as
well as that of assuring fun for the thousands of players who
have been a part of the Meadowvale Minor Hockey Association.
WANT TO BE A COACH? Each
year, we have openings for many different levels of experience
including "Never Coached" before. If you believe in our Coach's
Code, then you qualify.

Regular meetings for Coaches provide instruction on every aspect of the game,
the association and the league.

Coach's
Code
-
I will be responsible when
scheduling games and practices, remembering that players
have other interests and obligations.
-
I will teach my players to play
fairly and to respect the rules, officials and opponents.
-
I will ensure that all players get
equal instruction, support and playing time.
-
I will not ridicule or yell at my
players for making mistakes or for performing poorly.
I will remember that players play to have fun and must be
encouraged to have confidence in themselves.
-
I will make sure that equipment
and facilities are safe and match the players' ages and
ability.
-
I will remember that participants
need a coach they can respect. I will be generous with
praise and set a good example.
-
I will obtain proper training and
continue to upgrade my coaching skills.
-
I will work in cooperation with
officials for the benefit of the game.
